WHY MAVA EXISTS
MAVA was created by Johan Roa, a New York hairstylist and cosmetic formulator with more than three decades of experience working with complex hair textures.
Over the years, Johan noticed a pattern. Many smoothing treatments promised dramatic results, yet clients often returned months later with hair that felt weaker, drier, or harder to manage.
The problem was rarely the client’s hair.
The problem was the approach.
MAVA was created to replace quick fixes with a structured system designed to protect hair health while delivering reliable smoothness.
